At what point do the cables need to be installed?

For a new home, during the first fix phase, at the same time as the electrical first fix or just after. Where a system is going into an existing property, cables will need to be run through the ceiling voids and walls may need to be chased out to receive keypads and equipment sockets. It is best to install the system whilst undertaking renovation/redecoration works.

Who designs the system layout and cable runs?

Your installer will design the system layout with you ensuring that the speakers, keypads and sockets are in appropriate positions and then wiring accordingly.

Can my own electrician commission the system?

Only an approved installer can commission the system. All installers have attended rigorous training and been AHE certified to ensure the highest standards are upheld.

Is there a maximum recommended cable run?

The maximum cable run is 50m. Modular is unique in that it retains uniform power handling over this cable length with 'patent applied for technology'.

Can I use my existing audio and video equipment?

Modular is designed as a 'plug and play' system which is compatible with almost any piece of equipment which has a remote control i.e. tuners, CD players, DVD players, VCRs and satellite . You can simply plug your hi-fi (including midi systems) or video into the allocated wall plate and immediately hear/see and control your system throughout the house.

How many pieces of audio equipment can be plugged in?

The single source system allows one centrally located piece of equipment and local inputs in every room, the multi source system allows six audio and six video components.

Can I distribute a local input to other Modular zones?

The local input can only be used in its dedicated zone.

Can the Modular system form part of a surround sound set up in my lounge?

Yes, Modular is unique and can be used for home theatre and multi-room entertainment.

What is the warranty?

AHE provides a two year manufacturers’ warranty on all its products.

Can I control my equipment in any room as I listen to it?

The Modular system is capable of allowing control of your hi-fi in any room of the house for virtually any brand. Simply point your source remote or the learning handset (Silver & Gold options only) at the speaker or keypad in the room to obtain complete control of your equipment.

Can I integrate the audio system with my Television of PC?

In rooms where there are designated local source input plates, it is possible to simply plug in your tv or computer and hear the sound from discreet in-ceiling speakers. remote 2 icon
